Eleanor Burian-Mohr ~ story editor, writer, and producer ~ comes to children's media via ten years of teaching. After breaking up over 300 playground fights, she vowed to pursue a calling that didn't involve hand-to-hand combat or decomposing sack lunches. She found that calling in children's media, where she does the things she enjoys most about kids: teaching them, entertaining them, and interacting with them without the messy side effects. She brings to her work the same philosophy and values she championed in teaching: a sense of humor, never talking down to her audience, valuing kids as human beings, and never underestimating their intelligence.

She has written more than 500 hours of children's television and videos, in such genres as comedy (Inspector Gadget, The Wacky World of Tex Avery, Yogi Bear), action-adventure (Adventures in LegoWorld, Milo's Bug Quest, Sonic Underground), science fiction, (Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century), preschool (Book of Virtues, Jay Jay the Jet Plan, Rimba's Island, Old MacDonald's Singalong Farm, Dooley and Pals), and educational (Gadget Boy in History, The WhyWhy Family).

Through her educational videos, she has taught over 1.5 million kids the elements of a story, the heroes of ecology, the feats of kids in American history, and the building blocks of the food pyramid. Through her animated and live credits, she has written for such stars of stage and screen as Inspector Gadget, Dennis the Menace, Heathcliff, Archie & Veronica, Sherlock Holmes, Yogi Bear, Old MacDonald, Super Dave, Sonic the Hedgehog, Gadget Boy, and King Koopa.
Eleanor's website (http://www.gocornerstore.com), for which she writes all the content, entertains hungry minds with daily historic events, fascinating facts, animal oddities, ecology updates, word tips, biographies, and the intrigue of life beneath the sea.

Eleanor is a two-time Emmy nominee, once for the Prime Time animated special Inspector Gadget Saves Christmas, and once for a Local Emmy for King Koopa's Cool Cartoons, which was actually shot live, in front of a live kid audience.

Eleanor lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Production Designer Christopher Burian-Mohr. She is the mother of two fully grown artist sons and gameskeeper for three dogs, seven cats, and 100 birds. She is a black belt in karate and teaches martial arts to children. Eleanor has a Life Teaching Credential, completed her undergraduate work at UC Berkeley, and received her MA in Education from UCLA. She is a member of the Writer's Guild of America West. She also knows all the lyrics to every PD song, can sing them and accompany herself on the piano, has written alternate lyrics for almost all for one show or another, and can name all the Care Bears. But she no longer breaks up playground fights.
